One moment, a family is eating dinner together. The next, their home is underwater. In Bangladesh, floods, cyclones and fires can destroy a lifetime of work in a single night. When disaster strikes, our Emergency Relief teams are among the first on the ground — because we believe that in the darkest hours, no one should face the darkness alone.
First responders in the moments that matter
The first 48 hours after a disaster determine how much dignity a family keeps. Our local volunteers know their communities — they know which houses are lowest, which families are most vulnerable, and where help is needed first. This local knowledge means aid reaches people faster and with greater care.
- Emergency food packages — rice, lentils, oil and essential staples.
- Clean drinking water and oral saline to prevent waterborne illness.
- Blankets, mosquito nets and basic household essentials.
