The Do Something Foundation (DSF) has provided BDT 20,000 in medical assistance for the treatment of Yasin, a young child who suffered a serious electrical injury. The support will help his family meet the costs of his ongoing treatment and follow-up care.
For a small child, life should be filled with play, laughter, and the simple joys of childhood. But for little Yasin, an electrical accident has brought a long and painful period of medical treatment.
Yasin suffered a serious electrical injury to his left foot. As a result of the injury, two toenails had to be surgically removed. He spent approximately one and a half months in the hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.
Although he has already endured a long period of hospitalisation, Yasin’s treatment is not yet over. He will need to return to the hospital for further medical care and follow-up treatment.
The injury has also affected his everyday life. His family is concerned that Yasin may not be able to play and move around as freely as he did before the accident.
Yasin’s family is extremely poor and lives in a small earthen house. Meeting everyday household expenses is already difficult for them, while the cost of prolonged medical treatment has placed an additional burden on the family.
Recognising the family’s financial hardship and Yasin’s continuing need for medical care, the Do Something Foundation (DSF) has provided BDT 20,000 in medical assistance to support his treatment.
The assistance will help the family meet some of the expenses associated with Yasin’s ongoing medical care and follow-up visits.
For a family struggling with poverty, timely medical assistance can provide much-needed relief during a difficult period. DSF hopes that Yasin receives the necessary treatment and makes a steady recovery.
Through its medical assistance programmes, the Do Something Foundation continues to support vulnerable children and families who face serious health challenges but struggle to afford essential treatment.
