DSF Brings Light to the Home of a Vulnerable Special Needs Couple
For people living with disabilities, everyday life can become even more difficult when basic facilities such as electricity are unavailable. For an elderly couple facing both physical disability and extreme poverty, darkness after sunset had become another serious challenge in their already difficult lives.

Amiron Begum, who is visually impaired, and her elderly husband, Jabed Ali, who is paralysed, have been living in extremely difficult circumstances. The couple lives below the poverty line, and meeting their daily needs has become a constant struggle.
Their home had no electricity connection. Due to financial hardship, they were unable to afford the cost of obtaining an electricity connection or paying regular electricity bills.
As a result, darkness made their lives even more challenging and dangerous. Amiron Begum's visual impairment and Jabed Ali's physical condition make it difficult for them to move around safely. Without proper lighting, the risk of accidents and injuries increased significantly, particularly during the evening and night.

Recognising their urgent need, the Do Something Foundation (DSF) has provided a solar power system for the couple's home.
The solar system will provide them with a sustainable source of light, helping make their home safer and improving their ability to carry out daily activities after sunset. This simple but essential support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of a couple who have been struggling with poverty, disability, and the absence of basic facilities.
Through such initiatives, DSF continues to stand beside vulnerable individuals and families, working to improve living conditions and bring practical, sustainable solutions to those in need.
