A Tube Well Brings Relief to a Widow Facing Water Hardship
Access to safe and convenient water is an essential part of everyday life. For elderly and vulnerable people, having to collect water from distant or inconvenient sources can make daily life particularly difficult.
Tara Bibi, a widow living in a financially vulnerable household, had been experiencing difficulties in accessing water for her everyday needs. Managing household activities without a convenient source of water was a constant challenge.
Recognising her situation, the Do Something Foundation (DSF) stepped forward to provide a simple but meaningful solution.
Through its Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Programme, DSF installed a tube well for Tara Bibi.
The newly installed tube well will provide her household with easier access to water for drinking, cooking, washing, and other daily activities. It is expected to reduce the hardship associated with collecting water and make her daily life more manageable.
For Tara Bibi, the tube well may appear to be a small intervention, but it addresses an important everyday need. Reliable access to water can make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable households, particularly for elderly people living alone or with limited support.
The project reflects DSF's continued efforts to support vulnerable families and communities through practical interventions in water access, sanitation, healthcare, housing, education, and livelihood development.
