In a remote village, Amina dreams of studying further and achieving something meaningful in life. Coming from a landless and extremely poor family, however, continuing her education has never been easy.
Amina's father is ill and has been unable to work regularly for a long time. Her mother also struggles to find work in the rural community. With very limited income, the family manages their daily needs with great difficulty.
Despite these challenges, Amina has remained determined to continue her studies.
She recently passed her SSC examination and was selected for college admission through the college choice process. However, her family's financial situation made it impossible for them to arrange the money required for admission and essential educational materials.
The situation became particularly urgent because she had only two days to complete her admission. If she failed to enrol within the deadline, her college placement would be cancelled.
Recognising the urgency and the importance of supporting her education, the Do Something Foundation (DSF) provided BDT 10,000 in education assistance.
The support will help Amina cover her college admission fees, books, and other necessary educational expenses, allowing her to secure her admission and continue her studies.
For a student from a financially vulnerable family, timely education support can prevent financial hardship from becoming a barrier to her future.
Amina's determination to continue her education, despite the challenges faced by her family, reflects the importance of creating opportunities for students who are eager to learn but lack the financial means to do so.
Through its Education Aid Program, DSF remains committed to supporting disadvantaged students and helping them continue their education with dignity and hope.
