A Cow for a New Beginning: Supporting Rina Khatun's Journey Toward Self-Reliance
Rina Khatun is a widowed woman facing significant financial hardship. Her widowed daughter and her daughter's child also live with her, making Rina responsible for supporting the family.
With no earning member in the household, the family has been struggling to meet their daily needs. Despite their difficult circumstances, Rina Khatun did not want to remain dependent on others for support.
She expressed her hope that, if she could receive a cow, she and her widowed daughter would be able to rear it and gradually create a sustainable source of income. Through cattle rearing, they hope to become financially independent and support their family with dignity.
Responding to their situation, Do Something Foundation (DSF) provided a cow to support Rina Khatun and her family.
The cow was provided under Cow Distribution #61, with the generous support of BUET 87 Foundation.
This assistance is expected to create an income-generating opportunity for the family. By raising and caring for the cow, Rina Khatun and her daughter can work toward self-reliance and reduce their dependence on financial assistance from others.
