DSF Supports Widowed Mother Rekha Akter with Five Goats for Sustainable Livelihood

Rekha Akter’s life took a tragic turn when her husband lost his life in a construction accident. He was working as a mason when a wall collapsed on him, leaving Rekha widowed and alone with her three young children.

Following the death of her husband, Rekha Akter faced immense financial hardship. With three small children to care for, ensuring food, education, and a secure future for her family became an overwhelming challenge.

Recognizing the family's difficult circumstances, Do Something Foundation (DSF) stepped forward to provide support. Under its Income Generation Project #1270 (Goat Project #169), DSF gifted five goats to Rekha Akter.

The goats will provide Rekha with an opportunity to develop a sustainable source of income. Through goat rearing and breeding, she can gradually improve her family's financial situation and work towards becoming self-reliant.

This initiative is not only intended to provide immediate assistance but also to create a long-term opportunity for Rekha and her children. DSF hopes that this support will help her build a more secure and dignified future for her family.

Do Something Foundation remains committed to empowering vulnerable families through sustainable livelihood opportunities and helping them move towards self-reliance.
