IG Project #1212: Empowering Arifa Akhtar Through Livelihood Support

Arifa Akhtar is a physically disabled woman and mother of a three-year-old child. After being abandoned by her husband, she has been living with her father and facing significant financial hardship.

Determined not to remain dependent on her family, Arifa received training in sewing and hoped to earn an income through her skills. However, because of her disability, operating a traditional foot-powered sewing machine was extremely difficult for her.

Arifa expressed her wish for an electric sewing machine, which would allow her to work more comfortably and continue her journey towards financial independence.

Responding to her needs, Do Something Foundation (DSF) provided an electric sewing machine under IG Project #1212.

This support will help Arifa use her skills, earn an income, support her child, and move towards a more independent and dignified life.
