DSF Supports Ashik with a Vegetable Van to Build a Better Livelihood

Do Something Foundation (DSF) has provided a van and vegetables to Ashik, a low-income caretaker in Dhaka, to help him start a small vegetable-selling business alongside his regular job and create an additional source of income for his family.

A Small Opportunity Towards Financial Stability

On 11 June, the Do Something Foundation (DSF) extended livelihood support to Ashik, a low-income caretaker working in Dhaka.

Ashik works as a caretaker at a residence in Dhaka, earning only 10,000 BDT per month. With such a limited income, it has become extremely difficult for him to meet his family's daily expenses and maintain a stable livelihood.

Despite his financial struggles, Ashik did not want to remain dependent on a single source of income. He shared his plan to work as a vegetable seller alongside his caretaker job. By selling vegetables in front of the residence where he works, he hoped to earn some additional income and improve his family's financial condition.

Recognizing his determination and willingness to work, the Do Something Foundation (DSF) came forward to support him.

DSF has provided Ashik with a van and the necessary vegetables to help him begin his small business. This support will enable him to continue his regular job while also developing an additional source of income through vegetable sales.

The initiative is designed not simply as financial assistance, but as an opportunity for sustainable livelihood and economic empowerment. With the additional income from his business, Ashik may be able to better support his family and gradually achieve greater financial stability.

We sincerely hope that this small initiative will bring positive changes to Ashik's life and help create a more secure and prosperous future for his family.

Through its Livelihood & Economic Empowerment programmes, DSF continues to support hardworking individuals by providing practical opportunities that can help them become more financially independent.
