Do Something Foundation (DSF) has constructed a new home for Rafeza Khatun, who had been living in a dilapidated golpata house with her daughter and granddaughters. With no stable earning member in the family, they struggled to survive. The new home provides the family with a safer and more secure place to live.
A Safe Place to Call Home: DSF Builds a New House for Rafeza Khatun's Family
Rafeza Khatun had been living in extremely difficult conditions with her daughter and granddaughters. Their old and dilapidated house, made of golpata (Nipa palm leaves), was in poor condition and became particularly unsuitable for living during the rainy season, when water would leak into the house.

The family has no permanent earning member. Rafeza Khatun works as a domestic worker in other people's homes, earning only a small income. With what she earns, the family struggles to meet even their basic daily needs, often facing days of severe financial hardship.
Despite working hard, it was impossible for Rafeza Khatun to arrange the resources needed to build a safe and suitable home for her family.
Recognizing the family's difficult living conditions, Do Something Foundation (DSF) stepped forward to provide housing support.
Under the DSF Housing Project, a new home was constructed for Rafeza Khatun and her family, giving them a safer, more secure, and dignified place to live.
The new home will protect the family from harsh weather and provide a stable environment for Rafeza Khatun, her daughter, and her granddaughters.
This housing support was made possible through the generous contribution of AGI USA & DRN.
Through its housing initiatives, Do Something Foundation continues to stand beside vulnerable families, helping transform unsafe living conditions into safe and dignified homes.
