DSF Provides Auto-Rickshaw to Support the Family of Visually Impaired Omar Faruq

Do Something Foundation (DSF) has provided a new auto-rickshaw to the father of 11-year-old Omar Faruq, a visually impaired child from a financially struggling family. The initiative aims to create a sustainable source of income and improve the family’s living conditions.

Omar Faruq, an 11-year-old boy, has lost his eyesight due to severe eye complications and his family’s inability to afford regular medical treatment. DSF first met Omar while he was collecting money on the streets of Sirajganj. His father worked as a rented rickshaw driver, while his mother earned a living by breaking bricks.

After reviewing Omar’s medical documents, DSF arranged for him to receive further medical consultation and provided financial assistance for travel and treatment. Unfortunately, doctors confirmed that his eyesight could not be restored.

Understanding the family’s difficult circumstances, Do Something Foundation took another step to support their future. DSF provided a new auto-rickshaw to Omar Faruq’s father, creating an opportunity for a more stable and sustainable income.

Through this livelihood support, DSF hopes to bring greater financial security and dignity to Omar Faruq and his family.
